The possibility of engine fires has prompted General Motors to recall nearly 1.5 million passenger sedans manufactured between 1997 and 2003, the National Highway Traffic Safety Admission (NHTSA) announced Monday, April 13.

The vehicles involved are:

1997-2003 Buick Regals

1998-2003 Chevrolet Luminas, Monte Carlos and Impalas

1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigues

1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix

Equipped with a 3.8L V6 naturally asperated engine. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which the engine oil may be deposited on the hot exhaust manifold when the brakes are used. A flame may result and spread to the plastic spark plug wire channel and cause an engine fire. If you have had a house fire or other serious damages from a fire caused by this defective GM part, please contact us.
